Do it Yourself Corporate Law

If you decide to incorporate a business (a Hot Dog Truck, for instance), there are lots of procedural things you need to be concerned with. Depending on the type of corporation and what state you are in, you may have to issue stock. You almost always need to file minutes of your director meetings and file an annual report.

You can pay some fancy schmancy lawyer to do this stuff for you, but it is really quite simple. Most of the required paperwork consists of simple forms you fill out an file with your appropriate state agency. You can find free forms at IncParadise.com. They can also prepare all your forms for you and email them to you for a nominal fee.

I don't like paying lawyers in general, I especially don't like paying them to do something I can do myself. I've had a couple of corporations in my time, and I have always done the paperwork myself. It's so easy to do, even a $300 per hour attorney can do it!
