A friend of mine's wife sent me this clip from the TV show "The Bachelor." One of the "contestants" (bimbos?) has a theory that she can judge men by what they put on a hot dog. I'll avoid the obvious banal jokes about buns and hot dogs. I will say that contestant Jillian needs to learn a few things about preparing hot dogs. Any dog prepared by a bunch of bimbos in cocktail dresses can't possibly stack up to the fare at the Hot Dog Truck.

CLOSED TUESDAY FEBRUARY 24 and WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 25
I will be closed TUESDAY FEBRUARY 24 and WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 25 for maintenance and for an appointment with the Probate and Family Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
I am out of propane and my ex wife still thinks the better part of a day spent in a courthouse is a productive use of time.
See you Thursday!

John 13:34
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
The Glitch
Visitors to the Hot Dog Truck couldn't get Chili Dogs all week. I ran out of chili on Monday.
Normally that's not a problem since I get my food delivery on Tuesdays.
For 4 1/2 years I have been ordering from the same wholesaler. They always did all their orders and packing by hand. Orders were written up on old school "triplicate form" sheets which I signed when I paid. They never missed a delivery in 4 1/2 years.
Last week, they got into the '90's by computerizing their ordering system.
Result: they lost my order!
Remember: "to err is human, to really foul things up, you need a computer!"

Ecclesiastes 11: 10
So, remove grief and anger from your heart and put away pain from your body, because childhood and the prime of life are fleeting.

This is one of my favorites. It's also the inspiration for the great song by the Byrds "Turn Turn Turn."
With pitchers and catchers reporting to Spring training this week, I have a heightened sense of the turning of the year. Given the current state of the world, it is especially poignant.
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-8
A Time for Everything
There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:
a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Hot Dog Truck Decals
I was scraping ice off the Hot Dog Truck the other day and I took off a chip of paint. Rather than paint over it, I think I'm going to get some decals to cover the chip. Maybe another picture of a hot dog.....
Hot Dog Business Story
I run another site called How to Start a Hot Dog Business. I get a lot of questions and feedback from that site. Here's an email from a guy who bought a truck and opened up about 10 miles from me:
I have a great selection of dogs! Michigan Red Hots, Chili Dogs, Mac & Cheese Dogs, Slaw Dogs, Sauerkraut Dogs, etc..
My Dogs cannot be beaten, but the can be eaten!
GOOD LUCK ALAN!
