This may be the final days for my crappy floor lamp that I hate so much. I have hated it since "we" got it. I can't turn the damn thing on from a seated position and it drives me out of my mind. I'm thinking of a nice "post Christmas" gift for myself.
I found some great lamps at Farreys.com. It's easy to find exactly what you want, even though they have thousands of choices. Their search feature lets you narrow your search by a variety of parameters.
I'd prefer to get one of the contemporary floor lamps instead of one of their table lamps. As long as I can turn it on and off from a seated position that is.
Holiday Lamp
Take my lamp, Please
I hate my living room lamp. "We" got it when our old one fell and broke after a collision with a two year old. That means my wife grabbed the first thing she saw at Home Depot for under $20!
Like its predecessor, it is a floor lamp. It doesn't have a dimmer like the old one and the switch is too high-you have to get up from the couch to reach it. It might not seem like much, but it's one of those nagging little things that just eats at me every once in a while. Good lighting karma is important to me.
I keep threatening to get a new lamp, and one of these days I'll do it. I won't be buying any fine art lamps or anything oozing with label appeal like Kichler Lighting- just a good, solid lamp.
With a dimmer switch. Down low so I don't have to get off the couch.
Lighting, like almost everything else, has become way too complicated. There are a gazillion styles and manufacturers to choose from and some lighting can run into some big buck$. What I'd really like is a Boring Floor Lamp.
Is that too much to ask?
