The Drop Stop Guys answer THE QUESTION

I spoke with the Drop Stop guys, Marc Newburger and Jeffrey Simon, last week after they made a deal with Lori Greiner on Shark Tank. They make a barrier for the gap between your car seat and the center console so loose change, phones, and other items don't fall into the "Carmuda Triangle." I called tem for an interview on The Shark Tank Blog.

We talked about their pre-show escapades, the perils of production, and life after Shark Tank.

I also asked them THE QUESTION:

"Do you put ketchup on your hot dogs?"

Their answers:

Marc: "I use ketchup and mustard."

Jeffrey: "I'm a mustard and onions guys."

Jeff better keep Marc in line, or else native Chicagoan Lori Greiner might have to school him on proper hot dog etiquette!

Byron Young of CordaRoys answers THE QUESTION

I spoke with Byron Young today. He's the guy with the bean bag bed/chair company called CordaRoys that appeared on Shark Tank in episode 417. I was interviewing him for The Shark Tank Blog.

Byron made a deal with the Queen of QVC, Lori Greiner, on the show. We chatted about his company history, what's happening going forward with his business, and dealing with Lori.

I also asked him THE QUESTION:

"Do you put ketchup on your hot dogs?"

His reply:

"Yes I do. My favorite hot dog is one of those Chicago dogs with everything and ketchup."

I reminded him that putting ketchup on a hot dog is a serious offense in Chicago. He replied:

"That's why they have those little packets on the counter."

I might have to let Lori, a TRUE Chicago native, know about the habits of her latest business partner. Byron better hope she doesn't up her percentage on principle!

Lori Greiner Answers "The Question"

I had a big "scoop" yesterday, I chatted with Royalty! Lori Greiner, the Queen of QVC, and I spoke for about an hour about entrepreneurship, patents, and the Shark Tank. The full interview will be published on The Shark Tank Blog later this week.

Whenever I interview someone for any reason, I have to ask them "The Question." Lori's royal status notwithstanding, I would have expected the answer she gave me. You see Lori's from the City of Chicago, not, as she put it, "from a distant burg."

Any true Chicagoan would give me the same answer.

I asked, "Lori, do you put ketchup on your hot dogs?"

Her answer was an emphatic "NO! NEVER!"

Lori goes for a Vienna Beef frank, on a poppy seed bun, with mustard and pickles. She doesn't do the full on Chicago Dog, but she does the City with Broad Shoulders proud.
