I snapped this photo last fall-there was a gaggle of wild turkies cruising through the edge of some woods near my house.
I don't think this turkey will be on anybody's plate this year!

Potato, Potahto
On Thanksgiving, the Turkey gets all the publicity and notoriety. Many of us fail to honor another Thanksgiving staple: the Potato.
I have been given the chore honor of making the mashed potatoes for the Thanksgiving meal at my parents' house this year.
My grandmother LOVES my mashed potatoes, so I got the nod.
I use boiled, mashed potatoes mixed with some instant potatoes, cream, cheese, butter, garlic and pepper. I whip them up so they're creamy and smooth, but properly "goopy."
They're Oh So Good!
