Ugh.
It is raining like you read about. We are experiencing the beginning of a No'r Easter which threatened to cancel the Boston Marathon for the first time in its 111 year history. The Boston Athletic Association has issued an advisory to participants.
I live about a quarter mile from the Marathon route and our town basically shuts down for most of Patriots Day due to the Marathon. In the years before owning the Hot Dog Truck, we'd go "tailgate" and watch the runners pass. Since buying the Hot Dog Truck, I've been working on Patriots Day and it has been a very strong sales day.
Tomorrow (Patriots Day) the forecast is for HEAVY RAIN, SLEET and SNOW with wind gusts up to 50 mph! I will probably pass on selling hot dogs in those conditions!
Imagine the poor runners! They are going to be wet and miserable and a hypothermia warning has been issued by the BAA (the race organisers). Imagine running 26 miles in torrential rain and 30-50 mph winds!
I don't even like driving that far!
