When I was a kid, there was no such thing as rollerblades. We had metal roller skates with a key. Remember those? In the 1970's the funky roller skates with rubber wheels that folks roller discoed to became popular. Roller Derby was popular back then too (I've seen a few modern incarnations of Roller Derby and they use rollerblades).
I own a pair of a rollerblades, but I haven't used them in years. The kids all have them-so does my wife.
Nobody in our house has heelys. Our local schools prohibit them. I think heelys are kinda cool- I wouldn't wear them now, but I'd have loved them as a kid.
123Skate.com is THE PLACE for rollerblades and heelys online. They also have a cool shop called Fritz's Skate and Surf in Miami. Next time I'm down there, I'm gonna skate on over.
