When I was in the phone biz, we used to get all kinds of promotional items to give away to prospective customers. We used to call it "swag."

I still have pens, yoyos, stress balls, even mints from those days. Since time immemorial, companies have given away promotional items as a way of marketing their product or service.

Gimmees.com is a site that has thousands of promotional items for sale. They have stuff I never knew existed!

The funny thing is, lots of promotional items are just silly toys for adults. Everyone loves them, though. If you ever go to a trade show, the most popular booths are usually giving away the coolest swag.

A quality promotional item won't close the deal, but it builds a lot of goodwill and gets you more prospects to talk to.

Maybe I'll get some promotional items for the Hot Dog Truck. Maybe one of these snack helmets!
