What food would you most like to banish from school cafeterias?

Every week, the Circle of Moms has a question they ask to folks in their group. Even though I am not a mom, I am married to one and I am big on the local 'mommy scene" as the "cool dad." This week, they asked the question "What food would you most like to banish from school cafeterias?"

Oh, you always make me laugh! Followed your hot dog quest after finding out about it from mysouthborough.com.

As a teacher who supervised lunch for many years, I can attest that the canned vegetables usually don't get eaten. The ones who ate it mostly fell into the category that "food was food and that you ate it because it was there" for whatever socio-economic reason.

I'm not so worried about what to TAKE OFF of the cafeteria tray, but what is DUMPED OFF the tray (or out of the lunchbox and parents don't know) at the end of the meal (and I'm not even addressing $, or retainers, etc...). But, perhaps, it is the cafeteria atmosphere itself--not always conducive to a good meal. Most yelpers wouldn't even give it one star and yet it's where their children eat each day.

Just sayin'

So true. Our family has had three retainers and countless tupperware fall victim to the lunch room trash can!
