National Hot Dog & Sausage Council announces t-shirt slogan contest

WASHINGTON, June 6, 2012 -- Win gift certificate to build the perfect summer picnic and have your slogan immortalized on an official Council T-Shirt!

WASHINGTON, June 6, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Hot Dog & Sausage Council (NHDSC) is calling all creative hot dog enthusiasts today to submit entries for a Council t-shirt in celebration of July's National Hot Dog Month.

The Council seeks catchy, clever slogans that capture the great taste and tradition of the hot dog and the role of the Council as ambassador of this American icon.

"Hot dogs inspire so much passion around the country, and we want to capture that with the perfect Council slogan. Based on the excellent response we've had for previous contests we know there are some creative hot dog fans out there," said NHDSC Council President and "Queen of Wien" Janet Riley.

Submissions must be emailed to contest@hot-dog.org by noon on June 20, 2012. Please include your name and address. Limit three submissions per person.

A panel of judges from the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council will review submissions and select eight finalists. The finalists will be uploaded to the National Hot Dog Council Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/NHDSC) at 10 a.m. EDT on June 25, 2012.

One grand prize and two runner-up prizes will be awarded. The grand prizes and runner-up prizes will be awarded for the slogans that receive the most votes between 10 a.m. EDT on June 25 and 10 a.m. EDT June 29.

The grand prize winner will receive a $250 gift certificate to the grocery store of their choosing to build the perfect summer picnic.

First runner-up will receive a $150 gift certificate to the grocery store of their choosing, and second runner-up will receive a $100 gift card to the grocery store of their choosing. All top three vote-getters will receive complimentary Council T-shirts featuring their winning slogans designed to suit a t-shirt.

A national announcement of the winners will be made on July 1, 2012, to coincide with National Hot Dog Month, and the winning slogans will be displayed on T-shirts and other items that will be available for purchase by the public.
