For the lucky seventh installment of my quest to eat a hot dog a day in July to celebrate National Hot Dog Month, I returned to an old favorite spot for lunch- Archie's on a Roll. Archie's is located on Simarano Drive in Marlborough, MA; he's open from 11-4, Monday through Friday.
Today was a quick stop- I have already covered Archie's on a Roll on Hot Dog Stories fairly extensively.
A friend of mine who works for the Vermont State Police emailed me and asked if there was any place to get a good Michigan Dog in these parts. Archie's is the ONLY place I know of and the Michigan Dogs are scrumptious. Owner Alan Archibald took over 4 years to perfect his recipe and he slathers his Michigan sauce over Kayem Old Tyme franks. Michigan sauce is a tomato based meat sauce with a hint of chilis and a sweeter back end than most chili/coney island type dogs. The stuff is all the rage in upstate New York and Quebec.
It looks delicious!
Time to
CHOW DOWN!
This is one good hot dog!
Stop by and give Archie's a try and be sure to tell him "the Hotdogman sent me."
HAPPY NATIONAL HOT DOG MONTH!
