On a recent visit to Pearl Meats, we got an overview of the business for my tour of the facility on June 27. I learned a bit about the company and got a sneak peek at their manufacturing facility.
The folks at Pearl also sent me off with a bunch of samples, including their gluten free, nitrate and nitrite free, uncured, all natural, 100% beef franks that they make for Trader Joe's markets. If ever there was a healthy hot dog, this is it.
With summer upon us, a lot of the cooking in our house moves outdoors to the grill. While I do mix it up with chicken and beef, hot dogs make their way to the grill quite often in the summer months. My kids love hot dogs, so it's good to know there is a wholesome alternative in the encased meat universe.
They like eating them (so do I) and I feel good about what I am giving them. Hot Dogs are the ultimate summer finger food!
